Katalog výstavy, uspořádané GHMP v cyklu, věnovaném aktuálnímu umění, představuje dvojici fotografů, vystupující jako jeden tvůrčí subjekt. Jejich snímky, vytvořené v Praze během poslední pětiletky normalizace, jsou bez děje, nemají ani výrazné téma, náladu či kompozici, které by diváka na první pohled upoutaly. Jejich námětem jsou statické situace, snímané bez fotografických fines, zdánlivě zcela běžné a obyčejné, přesto vždy obsahující určitou podivnost či absurditu. Někdy zjevnější, jindy však pochopitelnou až z odstupem deseti uplynulých let. Jasanský s Polákem totiž fotografují situace, na které oko téměř není schopno zaostřit, neboť naše vnímání je vždy přivyklé své době. A právě o tom jsou jejich fotografie.

A catalogue of an exhibition, organized by the Prague City Gallery in a cycle devoted to the contemporary topical art, presents the works of two photographers featuring as one creative subject. Their photographsc created in Prague during the last five-year plan of normalization, have no plot, no pronounced topic, spirit, or composition that would engage the viewer at the first glance. For their subject they choosed statical situations, their pictures are taken without any photographic finesses, seemingly common and ordinary and yet implying certain oddness or absurdity. Sometimes apparent instantly, sometimes apprehensible only from the distance of past ten years. Jasanský and Polák shoot the situations that the human eye is rarely able to focus on, as our perception is invariably accustomed to its time. And that is what their photographs are about.

Der Katalog einer Ausstellung, die von der Galerie der Hauptstadt Prag im Zyklus der aktuellen Kunst veranstaltet wurde, stellt die Schöpfung von zwei gemeinsam arbeitenden Fotografen vor. Ihre während der letzten fünf Jahren der sogenannten Normalisierungspolitik in Prag entstandene Aufnahmen sind handlungslos und verarbeiten weder ein markantes Thema noch Stimmung oder Komposition, die auf den ersten Blick Interesse erwecken könnten. Sie haben statische Situationen zum Thema, die ohne fotografische Finessen aufgenommen wurden, scheinbar ganz gewöhnlich und normal sind, die jedoch immer irgendwie seltsam und absurd sind. Manchmal ist es sofort erkennbar, manchmal erst aus dem Abstand der zehn vergangenen Jahre. Jasanský und Polák halten nämlich Situationen fest, deren Natur nicht scharf erfassbar ist, weil die Sichtweise an die Zeit angepaßt ist.
