Elegantně upravený katalog s množstvím celostránkových barevných reprodukcí dokládá na mistrovských kusech ze sbírek NG vývoj české krajinomalby. Katalog zahrnuje jak typické krajináře (A. Slavíček, A. Hudeček, V. Rabas, J. Trampota, J. John, I. Ouhel), tak i autory, kteří se tohoto žánru dotkli větší či menší částí své tvorby. Krajina tu vystupuje v nejrůznějších podobách, ať už realistické, jako fantazijní přelud (Sklenář, Tikal) či abstraktní skladba (Malich, Sýkora). Publikaci je uvedena dvěmi eseji, jež analyzují, jak se chápání krajiny odráželo v kulturním povědomí naší civilizace (J. Anděl, Z. Vašíček). Následují dvě uměnovědné statě, zkoumající pojetí krajiny před (N. Řeháková) a po (Z. Miller) druhé světové válce.

A quality catalogue with a great number of the full-page colour reproductions demonstrates on the masterpieces from the collections of the National Gallery the evolution of the Czech landscape painting. The catalogue includes both the typical landscape painters (A. Slavíček, A. Hudeček, V. Rabas, J. Trampota, J. John, I. Ouhel) and the painters who, in their work, paid to this genre more or less considerable attention. The landscape in its various forms: realistic, phantom-like (Sklenář, Tikal) or as an abstract composition (Malich, Sýkora). The book is introduced by two essays analyzing how the understanding of the landscape has been reflected in the cultural consciousness of our civilization (J. Anděl, Z. Vašíček). These are followed by two art-historical essays that study the approach to the landscape before (N. Řeháková) and after (Z. Miller) the World War II.

Dieser sehr schön ausgestatteter Katalog mit vielen ganzseitigen Farbreproduktionen zeigt an den Meisterstücken aus der Sammlungen der Nationalgalerie die Entwicklung der tschechischen Landschaftsmalerei. Es sind hier sowohl typische Landschaftsmaler (A. Slavíček, A. Hudeček, V. Rabas, J. Trampota, J. John, I. Ouhel), als auch Autoren, bei denen die Landschaftsmalerei nur einen Teil ihrer Schöpfung darstellt, vertreten. Die Landschaft erscheint hier in verschiedensten Formen, in der realistischen, als phantastische Illusion (bei Sklenář und Tikal), oder als abstrakte Komposition (bei Malich und Sýkora). Die Publikation ist durch zwei Essays eingeleitet, in den analysiert wird, wie sich die Auffassung der Landschaft im kulturellen Bewußtsein unserer Zivilisation widerspiegelte (J. Anděl, Z. Vašíček). Zwei darauffolgende kunstwissenschaftliche Artikel befassen sich mit der Auffassung der Landschaft vor dem zweiten Weltkrieg (N. Řeháková) und nach dem Krieg (Z. Miller).
