V. Birgus a M. Vojtěchovský nás v reprezentativní monografii, vydané u příležitosti stejnojmenné výstavy v Chicago Cultural Center, uvádí do české fotografické scény 90. let. Uplynulá dekáda, která přinesla nové výstavní a publikační možnosti, znamenala i potvrzení vysoké úrovně české fotografie. Dokládá to i tato publikace, a to jak díly žijících klasiků (J. Koudelka, J. Štreit), dlouhou řadou autorů nejvyšší třídy, tak i jmény, s nimiž se poprvé setkáváme právě v devadesátých letech (V. Jirásek, M. Brachtlová). Publikace je uvedena texty obou autorů a podrobným chronologickým přehledem všeho podstatného, co se za uplynulých deset let v české fotografii stalo. Jádrem knihy jsou medailony několika desítek autorů. Na závěr je zařazena bibliografie.

V. Birgus and M. Vojtěchovský introduce us, in their representative monography (published on the occasion of an exhibition of the same name that took place in Chicago Cultural Center), into the Czech photography of the 1990s. The past decade brought along new exhibitory and publishing possibilities and confirmed the high quality of the Czech photography. The book exemplifies this by the work of the living classics (J. Koudelka, J. Štreit), long series of the first-rate authors, as well as the authors who have come into public knowledge just recently, in the 1990s (V. Jirásek, M. Brachtlová). The publication is introduced by the authors´ texts and a detailed chronological survey of the significant events that took place in the Czech photography during the last ten years. The substance of the book is made up of several dozens of authors. The book is closed by a bibliography.

V. Birgus und M. Vojtěchovský stellen dem Leser der repräsentativen Monographie, die anläßlich der gleichnamigen Ausstellung im Chicago Cultural Center erschien, die tschechische Fotografieszene der 90-er Jahre vor. Die vergangene Dekade, in der sich neue Ausstellungs- und Publikationsmöglichkeiten öffneten, bewies das hohe Niveau der tschechischen Fotografie. Einen solchen Beweis stellt auch diese Publikation dar. Sie enthält sowohl Werke der lebenden Klassiker (J. Koudelka, J. Štreit), als auch eine Menge von Spitzenautoren und Autoren, die sich gerade in den 90-er Jahren durchsetzten (V. Jirásek, M. Brachtlová). Die Einleitungstexte stammen von beiden Autoren der Publikation, dann folgt eine chronologische Übersicht des tschechischen fotografischen Geschehens in den letzten zehn Jahren. Den Hauptteil bilden die Porträts der Künstler. Am Ende folgt die Bibliographie.
