Anotace

Donedávna byl F. Drtikol uznáván zejména pro své originální pojetí ženského aktu. Záměrně se potlačovala mystická složka jeho díla, která nezapadala do modernistického paradigmatu, a zejména tvorba výtvarná, jíž se věnoval ve dvou obdobích. Zatímco v prvním (1901-19) může být ještě řazen k tzv. druhé generaci českého symbolismu, v druhém (po 1935) je už naprostým solitérem. Vlastně ani nejde o umění v pravém slova smyslu - ve svých olejích a pastelech pouze usiloval o materializaci svých duchovních vizí. Výpravná publikace, vydaná k výstavě v pražském Rudolfinu, není založena na chronologické posloupnosti, nýbrž na tematické příbuznosti. V jednotlivých kapitolách jsou zastoupeny fotografie, kresby i obrazy z různých období. Knihu uvádí text P. Nedomy a rozhovor S. Doležala s A. Fárovou nad citáty z Drtikolových textů.

Until recently, F. Drtikol has been recognized for his authentic approach to the woman nude only. The mystical aspect of his work that did not fit together with the modernistic paradigma had been suppressed purposely, namely his paintings he created in two periods. While in the first period(1901-19) he can still be classed with the so-called second generation of the Czech symbolism, in the second one (after 1935) he works in an absolute seclusion. In fact it is not the art as usually accepted - in his oils and crayons he was trying to materialize his spiritual visions. An exquisite book, published on the occasion of the great exhibition in Rudolfinum, is not based on time sequence but on affinity of its topics. Each separate chapter contains the photographs, drawings, and paintings from various periods. The book is introduced by the word by P. Nedoma and an interview between S. Doležal and A. Fárová over the quotations from Drtikol´s texts.

Noch vor kurzer Zeit verdankte F. Drtikol sein Ansehen vor allem seiner originellen Auffassung des Frauenakts. Die mystischen Aspekte seines Werkes, die mit dem modernistischen Paradigma nicht korrespondierten, wurden absichtig unterdrückt. Dies betrifft besonders zwei Perioden seiner Schöpfung. In der ersten (1901 - 1919) gehörte er noch teilweise zu der sogenannten zweiten Generation des tschechischen Symbolismus, in der zweiten (nach dem Jahre 1935) war er jedoch ein vollkommener Alleingänger. In dieser Periode handelt es sich eigentlich um keine wahre Kunst, weil er in den Ölgemälden und Pastellen nur seine Visionen materialisieren wollte. Die Publikation, die die Ausstellung in der Prager Galerie Rudolfinum begleitet, verfolgt nicht die Chronologie, sondern die thematische Zugehörigkeit. Einzelne Kapitel enthalten Fotografien, Zeichnungen und Gemälden aus verschiedenen Perioden. Der Einleitungstext stammt von P. Nedoma, weiter folgt ein Dialog mit A. Fárová, den S. Doležal mit ihr über Zitate aus Drtikols Texten führte.
